What are Work Types in FSL and what do they define?
Suggested answer
Work Types are templates that standardize the definition of common service tasks. They define:
1. Estimated Duration — how long the task is expected to take (used by the optimizer for scheduling).
2. Scheduling Policy — the default policy applied when scheduling appointments of this type.
3. Required Skills — skills and proficiency levels needed to perform the work.
4. Time Slots — the operating hours during which this work type can be performed.
5. Timeframe Start/End — if Einstein Work Duration Prediction is enabled, predictions refine estimated duration. Work Types are associated with Work Orders and Service Appointments, and can also be linked to Maintenance Plans for auto-generated recurring work orders.
