Before the workshop I review existing documentation, current systems and org configuration, and agree the objectives and attendees. I prepare an agenda and questions focused on business processes, pain points and goals rather than features.

During the session I map current and future processes, capture requirements as user stories with acceptance criteria, and note assumptions and open questions. Afterwards I send a summary for validation and use it to prioritize the backlog.

What interviewers look for

Look for preparation, business-process focus, structured outputs and follow-up. Strong candidates mention involving end users, not only managers. A pitfall is demoing features before understanding the problem.
