I tie each requirement back to business outcomes and use a prioritization method such as MoSCoW or value versus effort scoring, agreed with the sponsor. I make trade-offs visible by estimating effort and showing what fits in each release.

I propose a minimum viable scope for the first release, a roadmap for later phases, and a change control process so new requests are evaluated consistently.

What interviewers look for

The interviewer wants structured prioritization, sponsor involvement and scope control. A pitfall is agreeing to everything and then missing deadlines, or making prioritization decisions on the client's behalf.
